Why did you become an architect?
For as long as I remember I’ve always liked to draw and I’ve always been interested in art. Then with time I discovered that there are things that are more interesting and that being an artist wouldn’t be fulfilling for me. Architecture was the best choice to connect my artistic and scientific interests. Now, I know I made the best decision and I wouldn’t change it for anything else.
Why did you decide to come to Sweden?
I would rather say that Sweden chose me. After working for 2 years in Warsaw I decided to change my job. The country wasn’t my main concern. I was looking for an interesting and challenging work and the place didn’t matter. So, one day I found an interesting job advert on the one of the design web sides, had an interview and here I am now.
What is your dream project?
Every project that I am involved in is my dream project. What I mean by that, is that at the beginning of the design process I like to have some ideal picture for the project, something that will make it unique. Then with time the project becomes more realistic and even if not everything I was thinking of at the beginning is possible to realise it’s still great to keep the initial idea in the design.
Who is Ewa, and what do you do in your spare time?
Besides work, I like to walk around the city and read books. Now, when I am in Uppsala biking is also nice way of spending time.
What is the best part of your job?
It’s impossible to choose the best part. I see my job as a process that leads to certain effect. I like to be a part of design process, that I can see how the project develops from concept to the construction part, how it changes through all stages. For me it’s one of the best things – to see how the ideas becomes reality.
